Consumer-Directed Attendant Care (CDAC)
Consumer-directed attendant care service. Consumer-directed attendant care services are service activities performed by a person to help a consumer with self-care tasks which the consumer would typically do independently if the consumer were otherwise able. This service is one of the many services available to consumer eligible for the Elderly Waiver program.
Aging Advocates acknowledges the importance of giving clients a choice in providers and will do everything possible to ensure that our clients have the opportunity to take advantage of this service if they wish.
Persons wishing to be a CDAC provider pay complete the application below or call 725-1004 to request an application packet.
CDAC Training - This is a very important requirement for this program. All providers are expected to complete the training. Iowa Medicaid Enterprises (IME) works directly with CDAC providers to answer questions about the application process, documentation and billing procedures. Aging Advocates case managers will work with clients and their providers to implement the service. Please be aware that Aging Advocates case managers are trained to work with the client and CDAC provider to determine needs, set goals and complete the CDAC agreements. Aging Advocates case manages are not trained to help complete applications and other documentation required of the provider
